意派Epub360 is a practical professional H5 creation tool

One of the most practical H5 creation tools I’ve used

I’ve been creating WeChat promotional content for my company for several years, and have tried more than ten H5 creation tools in total. From the initial pure drag-and-drop “idiot-proof” ones to semi-professional ones that required some logic tweaking, the pitfalls I’ve encountered could fill a small manual.

I used to think making H5s was just about using a template and editing the text, until I had to create an invitation for a brand launch event that required a countdown, on-site navigation, and linked guest introductions. That’s when I realised many tools couldn’t handle such requirements, and later I started using Epub360.

When first starting out, many new users fall into several obvious pitfalls: First, they think dragging components will get everything done, but that’s not the case. For example, to create an animation where an element scrolls in, some tools require setting two triggers, and they often error due to overlap. I initially used the same trigger interval for two elements, resulting in it stopping halfway through scrolling. Later I learned to bind trigger logic separately for each element, and not cut corners by using default parameters; Second, they mistakenly think all functions are available after registration, but the free version has hidden restrictions. For example, I once wanted to import a short video from my phone, but the free version didn’t support external MP4 links. I spent ages converting it to a Gif, only for the image to be too blurry to use; Third, they import any random assets. I once imported an icon from the internet using another tool, and the H5 was blocked by WeChat. Later I learned that some commercial assets have copyright issues, so the platform’s built-in asset library is more reliable.

The core practical value of this tool lies in **visual trigger logic** and **stable WeChat integration**. Many similar tools only support simple triggers like “click to jump” and at most “swipe to switch”, but this one allows multi-element interactions: clicking a guest avatar automatically switches the introduction next to it; scrolling to a specific position slowly changes the background colour; it can even do simple drag-and-drop interactions like puzzles and drag-to-sign-in. These are features many tools lack, making the interactive effects far more diverse. As for WeChat integration, with H5s made using other tools, the WeChat camera function often failed to work — users would click to take a photo and nothing would happen. With this tool, once you bind your WeChat Official Account, the generated interface works directly. I’ve tested it dozens of times without any issues, which is extremely important for promotional work — the last thing you want is problems on WeChat.

  • Regarding detailed function experience, the form feature is the most reassuring: With registration forms made using other tools, the collected information had to be exported to Excel and sorted for ages. This tool’s forms sync directly to the backend, and can generate real-time statistics of the number of participants. For example, when doing event registration, you can see who filled in their phone number and who didn’t, and it automatically removes duplicates, saving a lot of manual sorting time. As for asset support, SVG format can be imported directly — hand-drawn icons don’t need to be converted to bitmaps, and won’t get blurry when scaled. I once spent ages looking for a tool compatible with a small icon, but this one just lets you drag it in without format conversion. For export, the free version allows exports, though with a watermark, it barely affects viewing on WeChat Moments. The premium version’s watermark is also very small, suitable for general promotional use.
  • Compared to similar platforms: Compared to Yiqixiu, Yiqixiu has many templates, but most are homogeneous — searching for “corporate promotion” gives almost identical layouts, like they’re made on an assembly line. Epub360 has fewer templates, but they’re high-quality, with a business style suitable for formal occasions like launch events and exhibitions, not overly flashy, and able to convey a professional feel. Compared to MAKA, MAKA charges extra for exports, but Epub360’s free version allows exports, so no extra cost — very friendly for small teams with limited budgets.
  • Here are a few pitfalls to avoid: When exporting, always select the WeChat-exclusive format, otherwise blank pages will appear. I once missed this, and the launch event invitation I exported was all white when opened, almost causing a big problem. Don’t make triggers too complex — more than three linked logics can easily crash. For example, clicking a button to trigger animations for three elements might get stuck. I’ve done up to two linked logics, which is very stable. When importing videos, convert them to MP4 H.264 format, otherwise they won’t load on WeChat. I once tried importing another format, and it took ages to load with no response; converting to the standard format fixed it. For the database of advanced functions, export regularly — if your account expires, data will be cleared. I learned this the hard way, losing all the event data I’d worked hard to collect. Later I got into the habit of exporting regularly, so even if there’s an account issue, data won’t be lost.

The target users are quite clear: Those who need to make professional interactive H5s, such as for brand promotion, event registration, or launch event invitations, or designers wanting to create complex interactive content — this tool is perfect. It’s less suitable for absolute beginners who have never used H5s before. Although the operation isn’t difficult, you still need to understand basic logic, like what a trigger is and what a link is, so it will take some time to get started. For those only making simple giveaways, Yiqixiu is enough — Epub360 is too complex and unnecessary.

Overall, this tool isn’t the kind of assembly-line product that generates everything with one click. It can create far more in-depth interactions than many free tools, and is simpler than professional tools that require coding. For small teams and people wanting to make professional content, it’s a highly practical choice — you won’t feel like you’ve spent time without getting the desired results.
