Unscreen is a free online smart tool for removing video backgrounds. It can automatically remove the background from videos or animated GIFs, with supported formats including [.mp4.webm.ogg.mov.gif]. You can upload a video or GIF directly, or via a video URL. With Unscreen there is no need to select pixels, pick colours, draw masks or set motion paths — Unscreen analyses your video and then generates a high-quality result 100% automatically. It removes backgrounds with ease to produce high-quality videos, and the results are stunning: even fine strands of hair can be precisely cut out. Once processing is complete, you can immediately see the cut-out result. Cut-out is not the only feature on offer here — it also provides a variety of background effects, or you can upload your own; switch with one click, and if you like the result, simply click to download.

The free version of Unscreen limits videos to 5 seconds (users get a 10-second trial), restricts the resolution to 360p, and includes a watermark. To get a watermark-free result you need to register an account, and more advanced features require payment.
