Keep running into pitfalls finding fonts for commercial use? I’ve used this platform for 8 years and never worried again

I’ve been working in graphic design for nearly 10 years, and in the early years I kept stumbling over font copyright — either the fonts I found couldn’t be used commercially, or the font libraries I paid a hefty price for didn’t feel right. It wasn’t until 2016, when a colleague brought me to Font Legend, that I stopped worrying about font resources altogether.

Can this platform really solve all the problems designers face, from getting started to earning money?

To be honest, when I first started with font design, I couldn’t even tell the fine differences between Songti and Heiti. I found a set of free commercial-use practice fonts on Font Legend, followed the tutorials to learn stroke structure, and within six months I could independently complete font typesetting for small projects.

Later, when I took on brand customisation work that required an exclusive font identity, I submitted my requirements directly on the platform and received a custom proposal matching the brand’s tone in less than half a month — saving half the time compared with going to an offline studio.

  • Free commercial-use font library: covering Chinese fonts, English fonts, calligraphy fonts and font libraries, all copyright-reviewed. I use them for commercial work such as wedding posters and e-commerce product pages, and to this day I’ve never received an infringement notice;
  • Commercial service matrix: beyond custom fonts, you can also find commercial font libraries and font stroke assets. Last year, when I worked on a tea brand’s VI, I created its exclusive wordmark by adapting stroke assets from the platform;
  • Structured learning content: everything from font design fundamentals to advanced techniques. I still occasionally watch the open courses to brush up on typesetting details and avoid font pairing mistakes;
  • Practical supporting tools: PSD assets, a logo generator and a design inspiration library are all there. Finding a suitable source of inspiration when revising drafts saves a lot of detours.
  • Is the difference between new and senior designers on this platform really that big?

    I’ve mentored a few interns who had just entered the industry. When they first started using the platform, they spent most of their time in the free font library and beginner tutorials, and now they can find compliant fonts on their own for their portfolios.

    As for senior designers, a friend of mine who works as a brand director often turns to the platform to exchange ideas with peers. Last time his original font project hit a snag, it was by asking an experienced designer in the platform’s group that he adjusted the font weight and smoothly passed the client’s review.

    In fact, whether you’re a newcomer just starting out or a seasoned designer with five or six years of experience, the platform’s resources and services can match your needs — newcomers avoid copyright pitfalls, while veterans can find tailored solutions.

    Now when I work on projects, I still go to this platform first to find resources. The time saved lets me refine a few more proposals — far more reliable than blindly hunting for fonts.
