A practical place to watch official anime

Official website: https://www.bilibili.com/anime/

I understand the pain point many people have when looking for anime: wanting official, complete anime with danmu interaction. I’ve fallen into many traps before—either too many annoying pop-up ads, or fragmented anime categories where I couldn’t find the niche anime I wanted. Later, I found this place, used it for almost several years, and here’s my real experience.

I made a lot of rookie mistakes when I first started, like searching for anime directly on the main site, which gave messy results—no trace of the Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan anime I wanted, mixed with a bunch of content creators’ talk videos, making it really hard to find. Later I realized that the Anime Zone here is a dedicated space, not the main site’s general content area. **The precise filtering function is only available in the zone**, for example, selecting regions like Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan, domestic original, or new anime seasons. The main site’s search doesn’t have such detailed options, and many new users ignore this entry, leading to very low efficiency in finding anime.

Its core practical value lies in the combination of official anime resources and the danmu ecosystem in the Anime Zone. In terms of resources, from new anime to old classics, from domestic original to Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan and Japanese anime, the categories are very clear, no messy content, and all are official, so you don’t have to worry about garbage ads popping up halfway through watching, and loading is stable, no sudden lag or pixelation.

When it comes to danmu, the atmosphere of fellow fans posting memes together is unrivaled by other platforms—when watching a famous scene in an anime, lines of dialogue float across the screen together, like when a climax in a shonen anime happens, hundreds of people post the same line at the same time, that feeling of “someone else feels the same way” is something you can only get from watching with danmu.

Some of the most convenient sub-functions: for example, the “region tags” in the filtering function—if you want to watch Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan anime, click the tag and all will come up, no need to search one by one; there’s a dedicated zone for domestic original anime, many exclusive new anime from China can’t be found anywhere else; also, in the viewing settings, you can block danmu not just turn it on/off, you can add your own keywords, if you don’t want to see repeated ads or irrelevant comments, just enter the keywords, keeping useful danmu while avoiding garbage content.

Casting is also hassle-free, as long as devices are on the same network, no complex settings needed, just click to cast the anime to the TV, and the picture quality won’t drop, adapting to mobile and large screen viewing habits.

Compared with several similar platforms, its advantages are obvious. Other platforms either have incomplete resources, can’t find the anime you want, or the danmu is all irrelevant comments, sometimes even triggering arguments; here, although there may be irrelevant danmu, the overall atmosphere is fellow fans communicating, talking about the plot, posting memes, occasionally someone asks details, others reply, no awkward silence.

The official aspect is also reliable, no sudden hiatus or removal of member-only anime, the picture quality is sufficient, even free anime has 720P clarity better than many platforms’ 1080P, no blurriness or fuzziness.

Here are some practical tips to avoid traps, learned from my own mistakes:

• Don’t navigate to the anime section from the main site’s general entertainment area; it’s more reliable to directly enter that dedicated URL, reducing the chance of redirect ads and pirated links
• When looking for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan anime, first select “Region – Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan” in the zone, don’t search by keywords directly, otherwise you may miss resources, as many anime are only in specific categories
• If you want to see the update list of domestic original anime, directly find the “Domestic Original” category in the zone, no need to remember the time yourself, there will be daily update reminders
• Subscribe to Bilibili Premium as needed; some anime only require a regular membership, don’t subscribe unnecessarily, since some anime can be watched in HD for free without a membership

The suitable crowd is also clear: those who like catching up on new anime, value the official experience, love interacting with fellow fans, especially audiences of domestic original and Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan anime, can find many exclusive resources here; if you hate danmu and just want to watch anime quietly, it may not be suitable, but if you like that atmosphere, you’ll definitely find it comfortable to use.

Overall, it’s a place where you don’t need to fuss, open it and find the anime you want, and chat with fellow fans by the way, no messy ads, complete resources, it’s the best anime platform I’ve used for a long time.
