Tomato Anime

Convenient 2D anime streaming platform Tomato Anime

Let’s talk about the 2D anime platform I usually use for watching anime

Official website: https://www.fqdm.cc/ Backup entry: http://www.fqdm.fun/

I always find it troublesome to watch anime— I have to switch between several platforms for different shows, some of which run out of resources halfway, and require payment to unlock, which is super annoying. Later a friend recommended this site, and I haven’t looked elsewhere since.

When I first started using it, I ran into a few pitfalls. I thought I needed to register and accumulate points to watch, but that’s not the case— you can start watching directly without filling in your phone number or anything, which is very friendly for people who hate hassle. I also thought it only had Japanese anime, but actually it has niche European and American anime, as well as new Chinese anime. The European and American school anime I’d been looking for for a long time is even here. Also, be careful not to click on the small pop-up windows that appear on the pages— there’s one marked ‘Member Zone’ that will redirect you to another website if you click it, so don’t touch it randomly.

The most practical thing about this site is that you don’t have to switch between platforms back and forth. It brings together mainstream anime resources from all over the world. Whether you want to watch action, romance, sci-fi, or even niche theatrical versions, you can basically find them by searching, which saves a lot of time. Also, new anime are updated quickly— you don’t have to wait for several days, you can watch them as soon as they come out, and the loading is smooth. I’ve never encountered a situation where the loading circle spins for a long time.

• **Watch anime synchronously with friends** — no need to coordinate schedules. Just copy the link and send it, both sides can click play at the same time, and you can chat about the plot in real time via bullet comments, which is much more convenient than video calls. Last time I watched a new anime with my childhood friend, it felt like we were sitting together watching it.
• **Smart Recommendations** are quite accurate. I like daily romance anime, and it won’t randomly recommend action anime. They’re all new anime in the genres I’ve watched, so I don’t waste time scrolling through useless content.
• **You can adjust the video quality yourself** — choose SD when watching on mobile, HD on computer, and you can even watch original quality occasionally. It adapts to any device, and won’t be blurry.
• I haven’t encountered **mid-roll ads** when using it, unless I clicked on the pop-up windows on the page myself. The normal playback area is quite clean.

Compared to the platforms I used before, its advantages are obvious. Some platforms either require a membership to watch the full series, or have so many ads that they cover the screen. Every time I’m interrupted while watching anime, I lose interest. Other platforms have incomplete resources— I have to search several sites for the anime I want, or even can’t find it at all. This site doesn’t have these problems. No need to pay, complete resources, fast speed— very friendly for students or people who don’t want to waste money.

Here are a few small tips: if you can’t open the official website, switch to the backup entry. Don’t click on unfamiliar links randomly. To watch the latest anime, just search for the title directly, no need to browse through categories, which sometimes update slowly. To watch with friends, just click the ‘Room’ button, no need to add friends, you can enter by copying the link. Don’t use browser extensions— the built-in playback tool works well, and won’t pop up extra things.

It’s suitable for many people. Whether you’re a newbie who just started and wants to find anime, or a long-time fan who has been watching for years, you can find something suitable. Newbies don’t have to worry about not finding the entrance— just click in and watch directly. Long-time fans can dig up a lot of niche resources that can’t be found on other platforms, and chat with fellow fans about the plot, no need to worry about no one to talk to. But if you only watch very niche anime, you may still need to find a dedicated small site, but regular anime are basically covered here.
