Last week, I helped my friend who waits for updated fantasy novels find resources. I checked three small websites full of pop-up ads, either with broken chapters or requiring clicking five or six links to read the main text. Finally, I found a reliable place through a friend’s recommendation — Tiandi Chinese Network.

Why do we always fall into the trap of pop-up ads when looking for novels?

My friend and I have tried more than five novel websites before, most of which are unfiled personal small sites. The homepage is filled with more than a dozen pop-ups saying “Click here to get VIP”. Clicking on them will jump to a strange game page that can’t be closed. Once, to read a fantasy novel updated to chapter 1200, I spent eight minutes just closing the ads, and finally a pay-to-unlock prompt popped up. I was so angry that I closed the page directly. In fact, not only us, many readers who like to follow updates have encountered this situation: the sites found are either slow to update, have too many ads, or require payment to read the latest chapters. After a lot of trouble, they still can’t find a place to read the whole novel smoothly.

What practical problems can Tiandi Chinese Network solve?

Where does it come from?

Tiandi Chinese Network was established in May 2015, which is almost ten years ago. It belongs to Beijing Damai Zhongjin Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Boyichuangwei (Beijing) Digital Media Co., Ltd. It is not a small site that goes online with a random server, and its reliability is much stronger than that of small websites operated by individuals. I later checked that its filing information is all compliant, so there is no need to worry about getting malicious plugins when clicking in.

As a platform mainly for male readers, its categories fit the needs of readers well, with no messy miscellaneous items. It mainly covers several categories: urban novels, fantasy, xianxia and wuxia, online game competitions, historical and military, sci-fi and supernatural, which are exactly the categories that most male readers often follow. The fantasy novel my friend was waiting for was found on this site, updated to chapter 1300, with no broken updates and no hidden paid chapters.

How is its reading service?

The most important thing is that the free reading experience of Tiandi Chinese Network is really smooth. There are no pop-up ads that take up half the screen as soon as you open it, and you won’t be interrupted by suddenly popping links when reading chapters. Moreover, it collects all the popular online novels at present, and the latest chapters are updated quickly. Unlike some small sites, which wait for two or three days to put up the chapters right after the author finishes updating. The novel I checked for my friend last week, the author updated the chapter at 8 p.m. that day, and it could be searched on Tiandi Chinese Network after 9 p.m., which was almost two days faster than the two small sites I used before.

In addition, it also produces and distributes original content, not just by copying others’ novels. Some authors’ new books will be first released on this site, so readers can see them at the first time. It is not only convenient for readers, but also friendly to authors who want to write. It provides professional services for authors to help improve the popularity of their works, so authors don’t have to look for readers everywhere by themselves.

What is the actual experience of using Tiandi Chinese Network?

My friend and I have used it for almost two weeks, and we haven’t encountered any pay-to-unlock situations. All the chapters we wanted to read are free, and we haven’t encountered those pop-ups that can’t be closed again. Once I was looking for an old urban novel myself, which I couldn’t find on other small sites, but it appeared on Tiandi Chinese Network in three seconds, and I could directly scroll to the latest chapter without flipping through more than ten pages of ads.

Its categories are also clear, so you don’t have to search for a long time among a bunch of messy novels. When you click into the fantasy category, you can see more than a dozen of the most popular novels at a glance, and you don’t have to guess which one is worth following. For readers, they don’t have to spend time screening reliable sites, and can spend more time reading novels; for authors, with a stable reader group, they can write content more at ease without worrying about promotion.
