Halfway through a morning rush job, I wanted to change my Mac to a fresh wallpaper, so I browsed several websites. Either they required a membership, or the images were too blurry to use. I spent over twenty minutes and couldn’t find a suitable one—don’t panic, there’s a site dedicated to collecting high-definition wallpapers that can solve this problem.

Specific ways to avoid hassles when looking for wallpapers

I tried this site called Meitu 123 last week. There were no pop-ups blocking the way when I clicked in, and I could search for images directly. First, let me tell you the official website: https://mt123.cc
When you enter the page, the first thing you see is that the images are clearly categorised, so you don’t have to rummage through messy categories. For someone like me who only loves anime, clicking into the corresponding section brings up all images of the same style, so you don’t have to filter out irrelevant landscape or game images.

Images adapted for different devices

Don’t think that wallpapers are only for mobile phones. I use a MacBook Pro, and I used to never find images that fit the screen perfectly. This site has a dedicated category for Mac, and the images there are already sized, so you don’t have to crop them yourself. In addition, the categories for mobile phones and regular computers are also clearly divided, so you don’t have to manually adjust the size every time after searching.

The image quality is good enough for work

I checked specifically, the lowest resolution here is 2K, and there are many 4K ones. Last time I picked a character image from Genshin Impact, downloaded it to my computer as desktop wallpaper, the edges were not blurry, and the details were clear when zoomed in. If you use a regular 1080P screen, you can directly choose images of the corresponding resolution, no need to download large files that take up memory.

All types of wallpapers you usually need can be found

I usually change my wallpaper about once every two weeks, and sometimes I also change my Weibo or WeChat profile picture. The images on this site cover all my needs, so I don’t have to go elsewhere.
In addition to anime, there are also game-related images here, such as characters from newly released anime, scene images of popular games, and simple landscape styles. My colleague who is a designer sometimes comes here to search for materials, saying it saves him from taking or editing images himself. By the way, there are also dedicated beauty-themed images, all high-definition, no blurry influencer-style images.

No annoying hassles when using it

When using other wallpaper sites before, either clicking download would redirect to ads, or you had to register an account. This site doesn’t require any of that—just click the download button below the image, and it finishes in seconds, no need to fill in any information.
I counted specifically, last time I searched for Spy x Family images, nearly three hundred came up, not just a few dozen randomly put together. Popular anime images are updated almost every week—new characters updated last week can be found here this week. Also, the entire site has no forced pop-up ads, so you won’t be redirected to other pages while browsing, which is much more worry-free than other sites.

Specific uses for different people

For an ordinary user like me, it’s just changing my phone wallpaper once a week, and occasionally changing my WeChat profile picture. Click into the corresponding category, pick a favourite image and download it directly, done in five minutes. If you’re a gamer looking for a game-themed computer wallpaper, just click the game category, and you can find the character or scene images of the corresponding game, no need to search for a long time.
If you’re a designer who occasionally needs high-definition character images as materials, the images here are free to download directly, the quality is good enough for reference, so you don’t have to find and edit images yourself, saving a lot of time. Also, Mac users can find images of the exact size they need, no need to use editing software to crop repeatedly—just click the image in the corresponding category to download.
