ChinaTextbook

This is a practical tool that solves the hassle of obtaining textbooks; I’ve tested it and it saves a lot of effort

Previously, I helped a friend’s child overseas find primary school textbooks from China. I checked several private cloud storage links shared by others, but they were either blurry scans with semi-transparent watermarks or required a certain number of friends to download. After almost a week of hassle, I couldn’t find an original textbook that could be used directly. Later, I discovered the open-source project ChinaTextbook, which perfectly solves these annoying issues. It is maintained by the TapXWorld team, dedicated to organizing textbook resources for all school stages in China, all in free PDF format, no need for friends to download, and no watermarks. Official website: https://github.com/TapXWorld/ChinaTextbook

No need to search blindly for textbooks; just search by these categories

Search by school stage and grade, no need to waste time on messy files

The resources on this platform are categorized clearly, listing all school stages: primary school, junior high school, senior high school, and university. Each school stage is further divided by grade, for example, Chinese and Mathematics for the third grade of primary school (first semester). You can directly enter the corresponding folder, unlike other scattered resources where you have to click each file to guess the content, saving at least half the time spent searching for materials.

Covers mainstream textbook versions, including core subjects and workbooks

Currently, the resources include not only commonly used textbooks in China like those from People’s Education Press (PEP) and Beijing Normal University Press (BNUP), but also complete textbooks for core subjects such as Chinese, Mathematics, and English. It also has many supporting exercises, answer keys, and workbooks. For example, the synchronous exercises for senior high school Physics can be printed directly for use, eliminating the need to find exercise resources separately, which is sufficient for both students and teachers.

Download operations are barrier-free; even beginners can do it in one go

Two download methods, one will suit you

No need for complicated memberships; both methods work: either directly click the PDF file of the corresponding textbook in the GitHub repository, click the download button in the upper right corner to save it locally; or if you find downloading one by one troublesome, directly clone the entire repository to pull all resources at once. Even beginners who have never used open-source tools can follow the simple steps on the GitHub page to operate successfully.

Avoid these small details to use it more comfortably

Don’t click unfamiliar external links randomly; all resources on the platform are in the GitHub repository, just download directly from the official website. Additionally, when uploading resources, ensure they are public educational content; do not upload copyrighted commercial materials, otherwise they will be rejected during review. This ensures resource compliance and makes other users feel at ease.

Ordinary users can also participate, making the resource library more complete over time

The process of uploading resources is simple, no complicated review

As long as you have a GitHub account, you can upload qualified textbooks: find the submission page of the repository, upload the organized PDF file, fill in clearly which school stage, grade, and subject it is, and submit a PR (Pull Request). The project maintainer will review it within one or two days, and if there are no issues, it will be merged into the repository; no need to wait long.

Non-commercial throughout, no worries when using

This project has never aimed to make money from the start; all resources are for educational use, no ads and no paywalls. Whether it is domestic teachers looking for supplementary materials, or overseas Chinese children learning domestic curricula, they can find stable resources here, no need to worry about pitfalls when searching for materials.
