Wormhole: A Secure and Efficient End-to-End Encrypted File Sharing Platform

Official website: https://wormhole.app/

Wormhole is a free file sharing platform focused on privacy and security. It safeguards file transfers through end-to-end encryption and offers auto-expiring links, so users never have to worry about files lingering on the Internet long term. As an online file sharing tool developed overseas, its unique transfer mechanism and security design have made it an ideal choice for temporarily sharing sensitive files.

• No client required, unlimited upload and download speeds: Users don’t need to install any software — all file operations can be done directly through the web page, with no speed limits throughout, keeping both uploads and downloads fast and smooth.
• Flexible auto-expiration rules: Two expiration options are supported — automatic deletion after up to 100 downloads, or after a maximum of 24 hours — effectively controlling how far files spread and reducing the risk of leaks.
• Large file transfer support: The platform allows uploads of files up to 10GB, meeting users’ needs to share large videos, archives, design documents and more without splitting files.
• Link generated upon upload, download while uploading: Unlike traditional cloud drives, a download link is generated the moment a file starts uploading. Recipients can start downloading before the upload finishes, saving significant waiting time.
• End-to-end encryption protection: Files are encrypted locally before being uploaded, and the cloud server only ever stores encrypted data. Only the downloading end can decrypt and view the files; third parties (including the platform itself) cannot access the file contents, so privacy and security are guaranteed.

Using Wormhole is extremely simple — just drag files into the web page to start uploading. Although files are kept for a maximum of only 24 hours, making it unsuitable for long-term storage, this design actually reinforces security, making it especially suitable for temporarily sharing sensitive content such as contracts and confidential documents. Its core principle of “encrypted file sharing” lets users enjoy convenient transfers without worrying about data leaks, making it a quality tool in the field of secure file sharing.
